Join us to discover the latest research and developments at WASM, engage in insightful conversations, and network with academics, industry professionals, and students from WASM.Program

Laurence Dyer
Laurence Dyer has a passion for developing solutions that both improve business and sustainability outcomes. His research has expanded from process solutions to include industrial waste and water treatment.
Bogale Tadesse
Bogale Tadesse specialises in mineral beneficiation and the application of electrochemistry in extractive metallurgy. He collaborates with several Australian mining companies to optimise energy and cost efficiency.
Jonah Gamutan
Jonah Gamutan focuses on developing fundamental and sustainable solutions for the minerals industry. This includes exploring techniques for green ironmaking, clean steelmaking, surface modification, and metal recovery from secondary resources.
Phillip Stothard
Phillip Stothard has a keen interest in applying Metaverse technologies to the mining industry and is currently contributing to developing a standard for children's safety in the Metaverse. He also collaborates with Blastlog Ltd.
Ping Chang
Ping Chang specialises in mining-induced particle control technologies, focusing on dust characterisation and mitigation. His research extends to mine ventilation, computational fluid dynamics, electrification, and health and safety.
